CUBRID is contributing to a number of informatization projects of the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Korea and supporting the process of converting the national defense integrated data center to the cloud, for the realization of the 'Defense Reform'1,  by providing its open source DBMS services.

CUBRID, which has been extensively participating in the public sector National Information Resource Management Agency's informatization project, has completed two projects organized by the Ministry of National Defense this year:

  • Old server replacement project of the information retrieval system for the war memorial;
  • High-speed situation propagation system old server replacement project for the Army Headquarters Information System Management Team;

and several other projects are currently underway.

CUBRID DBMS has been applied to the informatization projects under the Ministry of Defense, including the Armed Forces Command and Communications Command; Joint Interoperability Technology Center and the Naval Headquarters. In particular, the application of CUBRID DBMS in the naval portal performance improvement project2 is expected to be a meaningful reference for the performance of CUBRID DBMS.

It is expected that the projects using the D-Cloud of the National Defense Integrated Data Center will continue in the second half of this year and next year when the new systems are built and retired. CUBRID will continue to provide support and cooperation to implement smart defense based on its experience in cloud environments and the innovation of open source products.
