CUBRID provides Open Source DBMS services to the South Korean small business subsidy scheme.

In South Korea, subsidies and financial support have been provided to preserve the income of small business owners and small businesses that have suffered from reduced sales due to strengthening quarantine measures in the pandemic situation. The targets of support are small business owners and small businesses that are registered with the National Tax Service and whose sales are decreased or expected to decrease. Small business owners and small businesses that have been subject to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters' business hours restrictions can apply regardless of sales.

The eligible target recipients are estimated to be 900,000 small businesses owners with limited business hours and 2.3 million other small businesses with reduced sales. The subsidy will be in a total of 3.2 trillion won, diving to 1 million won per unit.

From the second payment of ‘New Hope Fund’, a second payment service for small business owners in February 2020, to the 6th, CUBRID has provided technical support and maintenance services to enable stable services. For this service hosted by the Small Enterprise and Market Service division of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in South Korea, NHN Cloud worked together as a cloud service provider, including CUBRID.

Various non-face-to-face services have been provided while the COVID-19 situation continues. After supporting the online learning service of the Korea Education and Research Information Service in 2020, CUBRID also supports the open source DBMS services to the South Korean support scheme for small businesses and it is expected to build various references of the cloud services in the public sector. CUBRID believes that the demand for non-face-to-face services will remain solid, and CUBRID will respond to the market accordingly.
