How to build and install CMS

Prerequisites

There is a prerequisite to build CMS:

CUBRID Database
CUBRID Manager Server works as a server-side tools for CUBRID Database Server, therefore it requires CUBRID has already been installed. Sometimes, a Broker and database server run on different hosts. No matter how, CMS must be installed on the host where the server is installed.

Download the latest version of CUBRID Database Server from:

Then follow CUBRID Installation Instructions.

There are some tools need to Create a Makefile

  • libtoolize (GNU libtool) 1.5.22
  • aclocal (GNU automake) 1.9.6
  • autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.59
  • automake (GNU automake) 1.9.6
  • GNU Make 3.81

Build and install from source code

CMS is distributed within CUBRID distribution. So if CUBRID is installed successfully, CMS would be installed properly. So if you are reading this section, it means you want to build and install CMS from source code.

Step 1. Download CMS source code

You need to download the same version of CUBRID source code as the version of the installed CUBRID.

Take CUBRID 9.1.0 as an example, you can find the source code here:

http://www.cubrid.org/?mid=downloads&item=cubrid&os=any&cubrid=9.1.0

Step 2. Build and install

build and install on Linux

Unzip the package and you can find the source code of CMS here: cubrid-{version}/cubridmanager/server.

  1. Move to the directory where the source is stored.
  2. cd $HOME/cubridmanager/server
  3. Execute autogen.sh.
  4. ./autogen.sh
  5. Execute the configure script.
  6. --prefix=$HOME/cubrid

It specifies a directory to be installed. In order to build a debugging version, add the --enable-debug option. CUBRID 2008 R2.0 or higher supports 64-bit, so add the --enable-64bit option to build in a 64-bit environment.Build by using make.

    ./configure --prefix=$HOME/cubrid
  7. Build by using make.
  8. make
  9. Install by using make install.
  10. make install
When install CMS, you need stop cubrid manager first by command cubrid manager stop.

build and install on windows

if you want to build CMS on windows, VS2008 must be installed.

  1. Open a commander "cmd.exe" and Move to the directory where the source is stored.
  2. cd %CUBRID-SRC%/cubridmanager/server
  3. Execute the build batche file
  4. cmd /c build.bat --prefix=%CUBRID% --with-cubrid-dir=%CUBRID%

    --prefix=%CUBRID%
It specifies a directory to be installed. CUBRID 2008 R2.0 or higher supports 64-bit, so add the --enable-64bit option to build in a 64-bit environment. And --with-cubrid-dir option specifies the directory CUBRID is installed.
