<p>This document describes how to connect Aqua Data Studio by using JDBC to help users use CUBRID more conveniently. Aqua Data Studio is a database query tool with user-friendly features.</p>

<h2><a name="_Toc244689399"></a>Applicable System</h2>
<p>This document is applicable to the following systems.</p>
<p>CUBRID 2008 or higher</p>
<p>JDK or JRE version 1.5 or higher</p>


<h2><a name="_Toc244689400"></a><a name="cubridmanager"></a>Installing Aqua Data Studio</h2>

<h3><a name="_Toc244689401"></a><a name="cubridmanager?????"></a>How to Install</h3>
<p>First, download "Aqua Data Studio v8.0" at http://www.aquafold.com/downloads.html. (For Windows users, it is recommended to install a file packaged with Windows Installer.)</p>
<p>Run the downloaded installation file.</p>

<p>When the Wizard screen appears, click [Next].</p>

<p>When the License Agreement screen appears, select [I accept the terms in the license agreement] and click [Next].</p>

<p>If you want to use a different directory for installation, change the path by selecting the [Change] button and click [Next] to continue to the next step.</p>

<p>When the installation settings screen appears, check whether the settings are correct and click the [Install] button.</p>

<p>Wait until the installation is complete. When the installation is complete, the [Next] button is activated. Click this button to continue to the next step.</p>
<p>On Windows Vista, the UAC elevation dialog may appear for the installation in administrator mode.</p>

<p>When the installation is complete, click the [Finish] button to exit the setup program.</p>


<h3><a name="_Toc244689402"></a><a name="_Toc168406212"></a>Installing the CUBRID JDBC Driver<a name="cubridmanager?????????"></a></h3>
<p>To install the CUBRID JDBC driver, download and install CUBRID at www.CUBRID.org.</p>
<p>This document does not cover how to install CUBRID; see the CUBRID Installation Guide.</p>
<p>If CUBRID is installed with the default settings, you can see the JDBC driver called cubrid_jdbc.jar installed in C:CUBRIDjdbc.</p>
<p>To use CUBRID in Aqua Data Studio, make sure that you know the CUBRID JDBC path.</p>


<h2><a name="_Toc244689403"></a><a name="load????"></a>Configuring Aqua Data Studio and Interworking with CUBRID</h2>

<h3><a name="_Toc244689404"></a><a name="load?????"></a>Running</h3>
<p>Go to [Start] a [Program] a [Aqua Data Studio] and then run the Aqua Data Studio.</p>

<p>If you have a license, register your company name and license key. If not, click [Evaluation] to use it as a 14-day trial.</p>

<h3><a name="_Toc244689405"></a>Interworking with CUBRID</h3>

<p>If you start Aqua Data Studio for the first time, the above dialog box appears. Click [Yes]. Then you should see the following server registration screen.</p>
<p>Even when you click [No] by accident, click Server a Server Registration, then you should see the server registration screen.</p>

<p>To interwork with CUBRID, select Generic ? JDBC in the left menu.</p>
<p>And then, type information in the right side.</p>
<p>Name: Type an appropriate name. (e.g. CUBRID-demodb)</p>
<p>Type: Type a value you want.</p>
<p>Tab Color: Type a value you want.</p>
<p>Tab Title Format: Use the default value. {0}@{1}</p>
<p>Login Name: An account to be connected to the database</p>
<p>Password: The password of an account to be connected to the database</p>
<p>URL: The format is the same as JDBC connection. (e.g. jdbc:CUBRID:Connection Server IP:Broker Port:database_name:::)</p>
<p>For example, jdbc:CUBRID:127.0.0.1:33000:demodb:::</p>
<p>Driver: cubrid.jdbc.driver.CUBRIDDriver</p>
<p>Driver Location: Type the installation path of a driver. C:CUBRIDjdbccubrid_jdbc.jar</p>
<p>The screen where all the fields are filled is shown below:</p>

<p>If you type all the information, click [OK] to save the environment.</p>

<p>In the popup window which appears when you right-click the registered server, click [Connect].</p>

<p>You can execute a query by using the Query Analyzer.</p>

<p>In the popup window which appears when you right-click the registered server, click [Query Analyzer].</p>

<p>When the Query Analyzer is executed, the following screen appears.</p>

<h3><a name="_Toc244689409"></a>Executing Queries</h3>
<p>Note that the auto commit mode is enabled by default when executing queries.</p>
<p>The auto commit mode can be toggled with Ctrl+shift+A.</p>
<p>Enter Select * from db_class; query, and click the <img editor_component="image_link" alt="" src="http://www.cubrid.org/files/attach/images/tutorials/17/image014.jpg" id="?? 50" border="0" height="19" width="15"/> button to execute it.</p>

<p>In the popup window which appears when you right-click the registered server, click [Query Analyzer].</p>
