I encountered the error message saying "Cannot bind local address... aborting.... Permission denied" when runnuing master process. What can I do?

I might miss this out when skimming tru the docs. How do we run query (join) accross multiple shard? if I had few tables in the join that is sharded and they are shard base on different columns, how will the performance like? any best practices or things to avoids?

I cannot access a DB. On the console, is it possible to reset DB password? I know DBA is a username.

When querying with SELECT, fetching the result works fine. When the last data doesn't exist, it should return False so to end up While loop, however it returns the following error after reader.Read()

As I said, obtaining results is fine but that error seems a little uncomportable.

When tried the 1st query, the error was -493

Error messages in a SQL log file:
Syntax: Internal error: object overflow address 0|760|-1 may be corrupted. select * from scan_temp where (rownum between 1 and 5000)

I searched how to handle this, and the link http://www.cubrid.com/zbxe/346902 said I should try "cubrid checkdb" so I did.

How should I do?

I have seen many times these days. What happened in our CUBRID server and how can I solve the problem?

I setup a ha cluster with master+slave following this tutorial: http://www.cubrid.org/manual/843/en/CUBRID%20HA.

I called my nodes : cubrid and cubrid2.

All nodes have this in cubrid.conf:

cubrid_ha.conf:

When I do some benchmark on the node "cubrid2", I can see node "cubrid" sending the data to cubrid2 then cubrid2 to my client. Using "top" command I can see node "cubrid" becomes busy with many INSERT, where as node "cubrid2" idle.

When I shutdown the node "cubrid", "cubrid2" becomes the new master but I can't send any query to cubrid2, it times out (trying to fetch data from node "cubrid"). When node "cubrid" is back, cubrid2 answer (I have to reload the heartbeat).

I'm using CUBRID version 8.4.3 from Ubuntu (12.04) repository

node.js는 근본이 비동기인데, 쿼리 실행할때마다, 커넥션 새로 맺고 쿼리 실행하고 하면, 잘 버틸 수 있을지 의문이 들구요. 한가지 불편한 것은 비동기 방식으로 작성하다가, cubrid에서만 동기 방식으로 작성해야되니, 여러가지를 고려 안할 수가 없네요. mysql 모듈은 비동기를 잘 지원하던데, cubrid는 비동기 지원이 힘든건가요?

I am creating web application with Grails web frame work. I have created the application and modify the DataSource.groovy file like this.

And my environment for the connection is development coded like this which connects my application to the CUBRID database.

I tried several times with CUBRID bt its not work out. It populates the following error message.

MySQL correctly parses an empty IN() in which case it just says that nothing has been fond.

Does CUBRID accept empty list in IN operator?

I need the same output as ";Get ansi_quotes" and ";Get no_backslash_escapes" in either SQL or using the Python Driver.

Basically, I need to know if ansi_quotes and no_backslash_escapes options are active within cubrid.conf. For other scenarios it would be good to be possible to obtain using SQL the values specified in the manual page:

Does it make any difference in SQL and drivers what letters-case is used?

I tried running the command "GET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL;" in CUBRID Manager and Python Driver. I followed the example below:

That the server_version() function exists for _cubrid connection object alongside many other functions. Why are these functions only working for _cubrid and not for CUBRIDdb also ?

I want to find out the charset used in CUBRID using SQL. In MySQL it is possible to perform this operation by running "SHOW VARIABLES LIKE 'character_set%'". Is there anything similar for CUBRID ?

I have a banner network project. I need to INSERT up to 2k rows per second (thats a peak load) in one table and UPDATE up to 300 rows in another.

Table for INSERTs looks like this: id primary key, ip integer, date (date when record was added), user agent, referer, publisher_id (references row in another table), feed_id (references row in another table).

Table for UPDATEs has 12 fields and intentified by primary key id, only one of them (integer counter) is updated.

Also I need to do 2 SELECTs: one on INSERTs table and one on another table with ~10k records.

INSERTs table can have up to 10 million records (this is a log for views/clicks).

Currently I'm using MySQL with Infobright extension, but I already see it doesn't handle load. Scaling MySQL is a problem, so I'm looking for some alternative able to handle such load.

The question is: is CUBRID ready for this? Is it stable?

The first table is created, but the second table is not created. The log only says 1'th SQL create operation successfully completed.[0.009 second]. Would anyone know why the second create statement doesn't run?

Therefore I wondered whether CUBRID installation package already comes with an init.d script to autostart the database server on reboot which I might have missed somehow? If not, is there a plan to include such a script for users' convenience?

I have installed CUBRID x64 bit and PHP x86 (official release) on Windows 7 64 bit. I tried to manually install the PHP API by adding the driver from here: http://www.cubrid.org/?mid=downloads&item=php_driver&os=windows&ostype=any&php=php53&driver_type=phpdr

I have VC9 thread safe (TS) version of PHP 5.3.10. I added the lines

[PHP_CUBRID]

extension=php_cubrid.dll

to php.ini and the file php_cubrid.dll to ext folder. I have tried with any PHP driver version but it fails to load (php crashes and apache fails to start).

Is there a workaround ?

Now, how can I discover which columns (or which primary key) is referenced?

I have the following problem. For some reason, several hundred files with the name xe_lgar001,xe_lgar002,...,xlgar411 files have appeared in the folder for my database named "xe". I have read that they are log files used for backup, but they keep appearing (about 1-2 per day) and each of them is about 40 MB. Also, none of them have disappeared and I even have files since December 16 last year. Is there a way to enable their automatic cleanup ?

Is there any way to safely delete the log files and limit their creation?

I have a production server with an application running and the database there is installed to a certain path.

I have a development server where we have many other applications co-hosted, CUBRID is installed to another location.

I did a backup of the database on the production server which made a level 0 file in the backup folder.  I tried to no avail to restore this to my development server, it kept on complaining about the path being wrong.

Eventually I copied the whole database folder from live and overwrote the one on my development server.  The problem was that the lob information still pointed to the paths on the production server.  I had to also change <dbname>_vinf file to sort out the new paths, the lobs don't understand this.

I had to make a folder of the same path on development and copy the lob sub folder there for the development database to register this.

I'm looking for a solution which backs up database_one_name to database_another_name_path if I need to.  I have no problem moving the lob data between servers but the database restore must change this relative to my new paths.

I did get what I wanted right but not in a way a general user will be able to handle by themselves, I tasked a junior developer with this task as I felt the GUI tools were quite simple to understand and to use, however it was not that simple.

I have VPS with 1GB of RAM and few low traffic sites on it. But innodb is consuming a lot of RAM and my server sometimes shut down because of that. So I am wondering if CUBRID can help me.

I have already read Isolation Level related question and CUBRID Transaction and Lock guide.

But Isolation Level, as I understand, locks the table only during the transaction. But I have a series of transactions during which the table should not accept any UPDATE/INSERT/DELETE operations, including the time between these transactions.

What should I do to have the table locked until I manually unlock it?

I want to pass a custom object class, but I dont know if CUBRIDOID is the right type.
