Starting CUBRID Database

Why do I need to login first to a database and start it only after in CUBRID Manager? Is this because of CUBRID's design ?

When working in CUBRID Manager, you need to be logged in to the database you want to start. This is because CM is perceived as a client to CUBRID Server.

If you have terminal access to CUBRID server, you can directly start a database without logging in like:

cubrid server start dbname
