CUBRID Virtual Machine Images

The CUBRID Virtual Machine Images, otherwise called as virtual appliances, contain a minimal Linux operating system and several fully installed and configured software applications, including the latest version of the CUBRID DBMS. This allows you to run CUBRID with other applications without actually installing it on your computer’s operating system. Using a virtualization platform, you can simply start and stop the CUBRID Virtual Machine Image whenever you want to use CUBRID or other applications. This allows you to keep your main machine completely isolated.

If you don’t already have a virtualization platform, or ‘hypervisor’, installed, you can download either VMWare Player or VirtualBox free of charge. Once you have one installed, download and run the CUBRID Virtual Machine Images.

Thus, the CUBRID VM Image is set up for development in any of these languages: PHP, Python, Java, or Ruby. Additionally, the Server mode is set to text-mode, no X.org. The entire CUBRID VM Image is compressed to reduce the download size. The archive also contains the README file with user-password credentials and the "Getting Started" instructions. After you download and extract the CUBRID VM Image, it will be ready to be deployed in your virtualization infrastructure.
